PLANET Long Reach PoE solution LRP-101U-KIT is a network transmitter and receiver kit that extends 10/100 Mbps Ethernet and injects power simultaneously to remote 802.3af/at powered devices beyond the standard 100 m Ethernet limit. The kit supports long-range data and power delivery up to 500 m (1,640 ft) over 4-pair UTP cable and up to 300 m (1,000 ft) over a single twisted pair, and includes a compact, rugged metal injector and extender pair with wall-mounting capability and operating range from -20 to 70 °C.

How to use

Install the injector unit near the power source and connect it to the network switch using standard Ethernet. Run a 4-pair UTP cable (or existing twisted pair) from the injector to the extender located up to the supported distance. Connect the extender to the PoE PD (for example, IP camera or wireless AP) with a short Ethernet cable. Power on the injector; the system is plug-and-play and requires no additional configuration. Monitor front-panel LEDs to verify link, power and operating status.

Recommendations

Use Category 5e or better UTP cable (Cat5e–Cat7 recommended) for optimal signal quality. For the longest stable video transmission, avoid running UTP close to high-voltage power lines and choose shielded cable in electrically noisy environments. Verify PD power requirements to ensure the 25 W maximum output meets device needs.
