The Intellinet 2-Port Gigabit Ultra PoE Extender doubles the range of a Gigabit Power over Ethernet link by adding up to 100 m (328 ft.) between a PoE source and two PoE devices using Cat5e or Cat6 cable. The unit draws power from the PoE input and does not require an external power supply. It supports IEEE 802.3bt on four pairs, providing a total power budget of 60 W and forwarding data at gigabit speeds.

How to use

Connect the PoE In port of the extender to a PoE switch or PoE injector using Cat5e/Cat6 cable. Then connect the PoE Out ports to your PoE devices (for example a network camera and a VoIP phone). Ensure cable runs do not exceed 100 m on each side of the extender so that the total distance between the PoE source and the powered device remains within 200 m. Verify LED indicators for link, activity and PoE to confirm proper operation.

Recommendations

For reliable operation, use quality Cat5e or Cat6 cables and ensure connected devices are IEEE 802.3af/at compatible if expecting up to 30 W per port. Avoid exceeding the total 60 W power budget and keep each cable run within 100 m to maintain Gigabit performance.
