PLANET GSD-1222VHP is an unmanaged Gigabit Ethernet switch with 10 RJ-45 ports that supports Power over Ethernet (PoE+). It provides a total PoE budget of 120 watts, eight 10/100/1000BASE-T ports delivering up to 30 W per port, plus 2 Gigabit TP and 2 Gigabit SFP uplink interfaces. The switch offers non-blocking switching performance, an intuitive front-panel color LCD for status monitoring and management, and a compact form factor suitable for desktop or small rack deployment.

How to use

Install the switch on a desktop or mount it in a 1U rack space and connect PoE devices using Category 5e/6 RJ45 cables. Use the front-panel LCD to view PoE allocation, port status and to select the operation mode (Standard, VLAN, Extend) according to your network requirements. Attach uplinks to the Gigabit TP or SFP ports to connect to NVRs, servers or backbone switches; insert compatible 1000BASE-SX/LX SFP transceivers for fiber connections over longer distances.

Recommendations

For IP surveillance, enable VLAN mode to isolate camera traffic and prevent broadcast storms. Use Extend mode only when longer cable runs are required and ensure devices support 10 Mbps duplex operation at extended distances. Verify total PoE power requirements of connected devices stays within the 120 W budget.
