The InLine® SFP Module 32335I is a powerful 2.5G 1310nm LX transceiver for use in professional fibre optic applications over single-mode fibres. With a transmission distance of up to 40 km, the module offers a reliable solution for long-distance connections in data centres, company campuses or industrial networks.
The transceiver is MSA-compliant and supports the SFP form factor according to SFF-8472. It is suitable for applications such as STM-16, SDH/SONET, ATM switches or fibre channel connections. The combination of LC duplex connection, hot-plug capability and industrial temperature range from 0°C to 70°C enables flexible and robust integration into existing systems.
The transmitter unit with DFB laser operates at 1310 nm and delivers -2 to +3 dBm power, while the receiver unit uses a PIN-TIA detector with -20 dBm sensitivity – for a strong, interference-free fibre optic connection with up to 2.5 Gb/s.

How to use

Install the SFP module into an available SFP port on compatible network equipment while the host device is powered on or off according to the device manual; the hot-pluggable design permits live replacement in most systems. Connect a singlemode LC duplex patch cable between the module and the remote optical device. Verify link status and data rate in the host device management interface and confirm optical parameters such as received power and alarms if the device provides monitoring. Ensure fiber polarity and connectors are correct before powering on active endpoints.

Recommendations

For reliable operation, use singlemode fiber compliant with relevant ITU-T standards and high-quality LC duplex patch cords. Keep transceiver dust caps on when not in use, avoid excessive bending of the fiber, and confirm host device compatibility with 2.5 Gb/s SFP modules. If link margin or distance is critical, verify attenuation and consider fiber testing to ensure the 40 km reach under installed conditions.
