The InLine® PCIe x1 to M.2 Key M interface card enables quick and easy integration of NVMe SSDs into existing PC or server systems. The adapter was developed for professional applications and ambitious users who do not want to do without modern NVMe performance – even if the motherboard does not offer its own M.2 slot.
The card supports SSDs with M.2 Key M and B+M Key, provided they use the PCIe NVMe protocol. SATA SSDs or PCIe x2 solutions with B-Key are deliberately not supported in order to ensure maximum performance and compatibility. The flexible acceptance of SSDs in form factors 2230 to 2280 allows the use of a wide variety of modules – from compact industrial applications to powerful desktop upgrades.
An additional highlight: Power is supplied entirely via the PCIe bus, eliminating the need for external cabling. The mechanical design allows use in different PCIe slots – from x1 to x16. The included components, such as a screwdriver, screw, and passive heat sink, make commissioning particularly convenient.

How to use

Insert the adapter into a free PCIe x1, x4, x8 or x16 slot on the motherboard. Mount an NVMe M.2 SSD (Key M or B+M using NVMe protocol) into the M.2 socket and secure it with the supplied screw. Attach the included passive heat sink if required for thermal management. No additional power cable is necessary since the card receives power from the PCIe bus. After installation, boot the system and verify that the operating system recognizes the NVMe drive; install drivers or enable NVMe support in the OS if necessary.

Recommendations

Use NVMe M.2 SSDs in Key M or B+M (NVMe only) form factors for full compatibility and performance. Do not install SATA M.2 or B‑Key PCIe x2 modules. Ensure the system BIOS/UEFI and OS support NVMe and update drivers or firmware as needed. For sustained heavy workloads, install the provided heat sink or additional cooling to maintain optimal temperatures.
