The InLine® Gigabit network card was specially developed for robust and reliable network connections in industrial environments. Thanks to the M12 x-coded connection, it offers a secure and resilient connection that is ideal for use in machines, control systems and monitoring solutions. With a data rate of up to 2.5 Gb/s via the PCIe 2.1 x1 interface, it ensures fast and stable transmission of large amounts of data. Thanks to the integrated PoE+ support (IEEE 802.3af/802.3at), connected devices such as surveillance cameras, sensors or access points can be supplied with power directly via the network cable; a separate power source is not required. Additional functions such as Jumbo Frames (up to 16 KB) for more efficient data transmission, VLAN tagging for network segmentation, Wake-on-LAN for remote system startup and remote access to the network;for remote booting of systems and PXE support for network-based boot processes make the card a versatile solution for demanding network environments.

How to use

Install the card into an available PCIe x1 (or larger) slot in the host system and secure it with the provided bracket suited to the chassis (standard or low-profile). If PoE power is required, connect compatible PoE switches or midspans to the M12 port and, if necessary, attach the SATA 15-pin power connector for additional power. Configure network settings in the operating system using the supplied or native drivers; enable PXE in BIOS/UEFI if network boot is needed. Use VLAN and QoS settings on connected switches and in the driver to segment and prioritize network traffic.

Recommendations

For reliable operation in industrial environments, use shielded M12-compatible cables and verify PoE power budgets on switches. Keep operating temperature within the specified range and ensure firmware/drivers are up to date for best performance and compatibility.
