The InLine® PCIe 4-Port RS-232 Card is the ideal solution for expanding modern PCs and industrial applications with four additional serial interfaces. Each of the four ports uses the proven D-Sub 9 format and supports a wide range of serial signals, including TXD, RXD, RTS, CTS, DTR, DSR, DCD, and RI.

How to use

Install the card into an available PCIe x1 slot (or larger PCIe slot) on the host computer, selecting the appropriate full-size or low-profile bracket included with the product. Attach serial devices using standard D-Sub 9 cables to the four RS-232 ports. Install device drivers supplied on the driver CD or download current drivers for your operating system. Configure serial port parameters (baud rate, data bits, stop bits, parity, flow control) in the host OS or application to match the connected devices.

Recommendations

Verify cable quality and shielded D-Sub 9 connectors for long runs or electrically noisy environments, and ensure correct serial settings (baud rate, parity, flow control) on both ends to maintain stable communication.
