The InLine® interface card 76619D expands PCs and workstations with two serial RS-232 ports via PCIe. This solution is ideal for industrial, commercial or technical applications where RS-232 continues to play a key role – for example, for controlling machines, measuring devices, cash registers, modems or laboratory technology.
Equipped with the powerful ASIX AX99100 chipset, the card offers stable data communication at up to 115,200 bps. It supports both hardware and software flow control, various data formats (5 to 9 bits), all common parity options and freely definable baud rates.
Thanks to on-chip FIFO with 256 bytes in the transmit and receive path, loss-free transmission is guaranteed even in intensive applications. The card supports remote wake-up, PCI Power Management 1.2 and slow IrDA mode – a plus point for service and maintenance applications.
With the included low-profile and full-profile bezels, the card can be flexibly adapted to different housing designs. Driver support is available for Windows XP and above and Linux kernel 2.6.x and above.

How to use

Install the card into an available PCIe slot on the motherboard while the system is powered off, secure it with the slot screw, and boot the system. Install any required drivers for your operating system (Windows or Linux) if they are not automatically detected. Connect RS-232 devices to the DB9 ports using standard serial cables and configure COM port settings (baud rate, parity, stop bits, flow control) in the host application or system device manager.

Recommendations

Use shielded serial cables for reliable communication in electrically noisy environments and verify driver compatibility with your OS version. For stable operation at higher baud rates, enable hardware flow control where supported by connected devices.
