The Intellinet Network Solutions Gigabit Fibre WDM Bi-Directional SFP Optical Transceiver Module (model 507486) supports standard digital diagnostics monitoring (DDM) functions, also known as digital optical monitoring (DOM). This gives the user the ability to monitor parameters of the SFP, such as optical output power, optical input power, temperature, laser bias current, and transceiver supply voltage, in real time.

How to use

Insert the SFP transceiver into an empty SFP slot on a compatible switch or router while the device remains powered on; the module is hot-pluggable and does not require a system reboot. Connect an LC single-mode fibre cable to the transceiver. For WDM bi-directional links, install the complementary module with the matching opposite wavelength at the remote end. Verify link status and monitor DDM parameters through the switch management interface.
