PLANET GT-915A is a remotely managed Gigabit media converter that converts between 10/100/1000BASE-T (RJ45) and 100/1000BASE-X (SFP) Ethernet. Housed in a compact metal enclosure, the GT-915A provides one Gigabit RJ-45 port and one SFP fiber slot supporting single-mode or multi-mode transceivers, and supports standard IEEE Ethernet rates of 10/100/1000 Mbps.

How to use

Install a compatible SFP transceiver into the SFP slot and connect fiber to the transceiver. Connect the RJ-45 port to a copper Ethernet device or switch. For standalone use supply appropriate DC power, or slide the unit into a supported PLANET media converter chassis for centralized power. Access the built-in Web GUI or SNMP management station (or use UNI-NMS / CloudViewer) to configure IP address, VLANs, QoS, bandwidth limits, and other converter settings.

Recommendations

The GT-915A is recommended for deployments where remote management, link monitoring and SFP diagnostics are required; use matching SFP types for the desired fiber segment (single-mode for long reach, multi-mode for short reach) and enable SNMPv3/SSHv2/TLS 1.2 for secure management access.
