The PLANET L3 MGS-6320-8T2X is a fully managed multigigabit switch designed for high-bandwidth network devices such as Wi‑Fi 6 access points, NAS units, and workstations with 2.5G interfaces. It provides 4 10/100/1000BASE‑T copper ports, 4 100/1000/2500BASE‑T copper ports and 2 1G/2.5G/10G SFP+ fiber ports, hardware-based Layer 3 routing and Layer 2/4 switching, and dual-stack IPv4/IPv6 management to support enterprise and smart-city network deployments.

Advantages

The switch supports 2.5Gbps over existing CAT5e cabling to increase throughput without re-wiring, redundant ring protection (G.8032 ERPS) and RSTP for fast recovery, and cybersecurity features including SSHv2 and TLSv1.2 for secure management. Dual 10G-capable SFP+ ports provide flexible uplink options, and integrated SMTP/SNMP event alerts, SFP DDM monitoring, and multiple management interfaces (Web, console/Telnet, SNMPv3) simplify operation and maintenance.

Suitable for

  • High-performance Wi‑Fi 6 access point aggregation
  • Network-attached storage (NAS) and workstation connectivity with multigigabit needs
  • IP surveillance, VoIP, and enterprise edge deployments using IPv6/IPv4
  • Small and medium business racks requiring 1U managed switching

Key specifications

  • Ports: 4 × 10/100/1000BASE‑T, 4 × 100/1000/2500BASE‑T, 2 × 1G/2.5G/10G SFP+
  • Switching capacity: 68 Gbit/s
  • Layer support: L2 switching, hardware-based L3 routing (static, RIP, OSPF)
  • Management: Web GUI, console/Telnet, SNMPv3
  • Security: ACL (L2–L4), 802.1x, private VLAN, DHCP Snooping, IP Source Guard, Dynamic ARP Inspection
  • Resiliency: G.8032 ERPS, RSTP/MSTP
  • Form factor: 1U rack-mountable; weight 1.436 kg
  • Standards: IEEE 802.3 family (see product data)

How to use

Mount the MGS-6320-8T2X in a standard 19" 1U rack and connect copper or SFP/SFP+ transceivers according to required distance and speed. Use the Web GUI for initial configuration or the console/Telnet interface for text-based setup. Configure VLANs and L3 routing (static routes, RIP or OSPF) to segment traffic and enable inter-VLAN routing. Apply ACLs, 802.1x, DHCP Snooping and ARP inspection to enforce security at the network edge. Monitor SFP parameters via DDM and set up SMTP or SNMP traps for event alerts.

Recommendations

For best results, pair multigigabit endpoints (Wi‑Fi 6 APs, NAS, workstations) to the 2.5G ports to avoid bottlenecks, use SFP+ uplinks for aggregation to core switches, and enable ERPS or MSTP in ring/topology-critical deployments. Keep firmware updated and use SNMPv3 or encrypted management protocols (SSHv2/TLSv1.2) for remote administration.
