The PLANET GSD-1008HP is an unmanaged Gigabit Ethernet switch with 10 ports, including eight 10/100/1000T PoE+ ports delivering up to 32 W per port and a total PoE budget of 120 W, plus two Gigabit uplink ports. Housed in a compact metal desktop-size enclosure, the switch is intended for small-scale networks that require centralized PoE power distribution for HD IP surveillance, Wi‑Fi access points and IP phones.

How to use

Place the GSD-1008HP on a stable surface or mount it according to site requirements. Connect uplink ports to your core switch or router using Cat5e/Cat6 cables and connect powered devices (IP cameras, access points, IP phones) to the PoE ports. Use the DIP switch to select the desired operation mode: Standard for normal PoE+ switching, VLAN to isolate ports and limit multicast/broadcast impact, or Extend to enable 250 m reach at 10 Mbps with 20 W PoE output. Monitor PoE status and PD alive check to allow automatic power reset of unresponsive devices.

Recommendations

For best results, use quality Ethernet cabling (Cat5e or higher) and verify total PoE power consumption of connected devices does not exceed the 120 W budget. Choose Extend mode only when longer runs are necessary and full gigabit throughput is not required.
