Photoelectrical Reflection Detector GIRA Dual Q

The GIRA Dual Q is a photoelectrical reflection detector combining scattered-light smoke detection with a thermal sensor to provide twofold detection. The device detects small smoke particles early via a photoelectric scattered-light chamber while an integrated temperature sensor recognises rapid temperature rises, improving detection of different fire types and reducing false alarms. The battery is permanently installed with a guaranteed service life of at least 10 years. The detector supports optional networking and expandability via additional modules for wired or wireless interconnection and KNX integration.

How to use

Mount the detector on the ceiling in the centre of the room for optimum coverage; if ceiling mounting is not possible, maintain at least 50 cm distance from the wall. One device covers a room up to 60 m² with a maximum height of 4.50 m. Connect optional modules or the wireless diagnostic tool as required to enable remote checks and networking. The optical detection can be temporarily (15 minutes) silenced during strong cooking vapours while the thermal sensor continues protection.

Recommendations

Install detectors on every storey and in hallways used for escape routes; consider equipping all rooms for best protection. Use the wireless diagnostic tool to perform checks from ground or stairway level without removing the unit, and enable the disassembly safeguard in public or rental spaces to prevent tampering.
