The system runs Windows 11 Home and includes features such as 2.5 Gb LAN, Wi-Fi 802.11be, Bluetooth, FHD IR webcam and an English backlit keyboard. The laptop is finished in black and weighs 3.3 kg.

Advantages

The SCAR 18 combines a next-generation Intel Core Ultra U9-275HX CPU with a high-end NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5080 GPU to deliver high framerates in esports titles and demanding AAA games. The large 18" MiniLED panel with 240Hz refresh and 2560x1600 resolution offers responsive visuals and improved contrast for gaming and content review. Fast DDR5 memory and a 2TB PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD provide quick load times and ample storage. Connectivity options include multiple USB 3.2 ports, two Thunderbolt ports, HDMI and 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet for low-latency online play.

Suitable for

  • Competitive esports and high-refresh gaming
  • AAA gaming at high settings
  • Content creation workflows that benefit from GPU and AI acceleration
  • On-the-go gaming and LAN events

How to use

Set up the ROG Strix SCAR 18 on a stable surface and connect the supplied power adapter before first use to ensure optimal performance. Install Windows updates and GPU drivers from the manufacturer to keep system software current. Use Armoury Crate or included ASUS utilities to monitor temperatures, configure performance profiles and customize keyboard backlight settings. For gaming, select a performance profile to prioritise CPU and GPU resources; for battery-saving or quiet operation, choose a balanced or power-saving profile.

Recommendations

For best gaming performance, keep the cooling vents unobstructed, update graphics drivers regularly, and use a wired 2.5 GbE connection or Wi‑Fi 6E/802.11be for lower latency in competitive play. Consider expanding RAM to 64GB if you run heavy multitasking or large content-creation projects.
