The PLANET FSD-503 Fast Ethernet 10/100 network switch is a compact 5‑port RJ-45 switch designed for small office and home office environments. It provides 10/100Mbps auto-negotiation on all ports, full-duplex capability, a 2K MAC address table and 1 Gbit/s switching capacity in a metal desktop case that can also be wall-mounted.

How to use

Place the switch on a desktop or mount it on a wall, then connect each device using Cat5/Cat5e cables to the RJ-45 ports. The ports perform 10/100Mbps auto-negotiation and auto MDI/MDI-X, so standard straight or crossover cables are not required. Connect the DC 5 V power adapter, use the rear power ON/OFF button to control power, and allow the device to complete its boot sequence before network traffic begins.

Recommendations

For optimal performance, connect servers or routers directly to the switch using quality Cat5e cables, avoid daisy-chaining multiple unmanaged switches where possible, and place the switch in a well-ventilated, dry location to maintain stable operation.
