How to use

Mount the switch in a standard 19-inch rack using the supplied brackets and connect SFP/SFP+ transceivers or copper Ethernet cables to the appropriate ports. Access the device via the web GUI, console, Telnet or SSH to configure VLANs, port aggregation, Layer 3 routing (static, RIP, OSPF), multicast controls and security policies. For SFP+ ports, select compatible 10G or 1G transceivers according to required distance and speed; enable SFP-DDM to monitor transceiver parameters. Use SNMPv3 for encrypted monitoring and integrate RADIUS if centralized authentication is required.

Recommendations

For ring topologies or networks requiring fast recovery, enable ITU-T G.8032 ERPS and MSTP to achieve sub-15ms recovery in simple ring setups. When deploying multicast services, use IGMP/MLD snooping and MVR to limit multicast flooding. Combine DHCP Snooping, IP Source Guard and Dynamic ARP Inspection to protect against IP/MAC spoofing.
