How to use

Mount the GS-4210-24T2S in a standard 19-inch rack or place it on a flat surface. Connect Ethernet devices to the 24 RJ-45 ports and install SFP transceivers in the mini-GBIC slots for fiber uplinks as needed. Access the switch management through the web GUI, console or SNMP to configure VLANs, link aggregation, QoS policies and security features such as ACLs and 802.1X. For remote secure management, enable SSH or HTTPS and configure SNMPv3 credentials.

Recommendations

Use fiber SFP modules compatible with the switch for uplinks to backbone switches and monitoring centers; multi-mode fiber supports medium distances (up to about 2 km depending on module), while single-mode or WDM modules extend up to tens of kilometers.
