PLANET MGSW-24160F is a managed L2+ Gigabit Ethernet switch designed for long-reach networks in enterprises, telecoms, campuses and service providers. It provides 16 dual-speed 100/1000 Mbps SFP fiber ports and 8 10/100/1000 Mbps RJ-45 ports in a rugged 1U rack-mountable case, delivering a non-blocking switch fabric with up to 48 Gbps wire‑speed throughput and operating reliably between 0 and 60 °C. Front access design simplifies wiring and maintenance in cabinet installations.

Advantages

How to use

Install the MGSW-24160F in a standard 1U rack using the front-access orientation for convenient cable routing. Populate the SFP slots with appropriate SFP transceivers selected for required distance and fiber type (multimode or single-mode/WDM). Connect RJ-45 devices to the Gigabit ports and configure management settings via Web GUI, console or SNMP management software. Configure VLANs, link aggregation, QoS and security policies according to network design, and enable redundant power by connecting both AC and DC supplies if required.

Recommendations

Use SFP modules that support DDM to allow real-time monitoring of optical parameters. For critical installations enable redundant power and configure the fault alarm plus digital I/O to integrate external alarm systems. Apply IPv6/IPv4 dual-stack and Layer 3 VLAN routing when migrating to IPv6 to avoid replacing existing infrastructure.
