How to use

Insert AA batteries and connect the tester to the fibre connector under test using the appropriate adapter for FC, LC, SC or ST. Activate the visual fault locator; the device emits a visible red light that will appear at breaks, bends or at the far end of the fibre if continuity is present. Move along the cable and inspect connectors, splices and patch panels to locate the source of signal loss or to identify individual fibres. Power the unit off when not in use to conserve batteries.

Recommendations

Do not look directly into the light source and avoid pointing it at other people. Use the visible fault locator for short-range tracing and identification; it is not suitable for measuring optical power or long-distance loss.
