Coding and compatibility

1. SFP+ modules are the standard for fiber optic communication

Manufacturers of network equipment support the SFP, SFP+ and QSFP standards. SFP+ modules are used in different devices such as switches, routers, firewalls, servers and storage devices. These devices are equipped with a port where an SFP+ module can be plugged in. The abbreviation SFP+ stands for Small Form Factor Pluggable and the + indicates that it is for 10Gbps speeds.

Insert the ACT TR0004 SFP+ module into a compatible SFP+ port on a switch, router, server or optical device until it clicks into place. Connect single‑mode fiber with LC connectors to the module. If the host device supports DDM, monitor diagnostic parameters such as transmit/receive power and temperature via the device management interface. Replace or upgrade the module as needed without powering down the equipment, since SFP+ modules are hot‑swappable.
