EK-Quantum Vector Strix RX 6800/6900 is a 2nd generation Vector GPU water block designed for ASUS ROG Strix GAMING Radeon RX 6800, RX 6800 XT and RX 6900 XT graphics cards based on AMD RDNA2 architecture. The block directly cools the GPU core, VRAM and VRM by channeling coolant over these critical components. Its construction uses a nickel-plated copper base and a black POM acetal top, with EPDM O-rings and pre-installed brass standoffs for reliable sealing and straightforward installation.

Advantages

The Vector Series implements an Open Split-Flow cooling engine with optimized jet-plate and fin geometry to ensure even coolant distribution, low hydraulic restriction and reduced hydrodynamic instabilities. This design delivers efficient cooling performance even with lower-speed pumps. The base is CNC-machined from high-grade nickel-plated electrolytic copper for effective heat transfer, while the acetal top and terminals provide durable, leak-resistant assembly. How to use

Remove the original GPU cooler following the card manufacturer's service instructions. Clean the GPU die and contact areas, then apply the supplied thermal grease and thermal pads to the appropriate VRAM and VRM zones. Position the EK-Quantum Vector Strix RX 6800/6900 block onto the PCB, align the pre-installed brass standoffs and secure the block using the included screws, nuts and washers. Install G1/4" fittings and connect to your loop, ensuring correct D-RGB connector orientation (arrow to +5V). Pressure-test and leak-test the loop before powering on the system.

Recommendations

Use a compatible retention backplate for improved aesthetics and additional passive cooling of the GPU core and PCB VRM/VRAM areas. For optimal performance, pair the block with a quality coolant and maintain regular loop maintenance; ensure pump flow meets system requirements and verify D-RGB headers support 3-pin +5V addressable LEDs.
