How to use

Install the GS-4210-8UP2S in a standard 1U rack space and connect uplink fiber modules into the SFP slots if required. Plug PoE devices into the RJ-45 ports; configure PoE parameters, schedules and PD alive check from the web interface or CLI. Use SNMP or PLANET UNI-NMS / CloudViewer apps for remote monitoring and management. Configure VLANs, link aggregation, QoS and security policies according to network design to ensure proper segmentation and traffic prioritization.

Recommendations

For deployments with long cable runs, enable the "Extend" mode on specific ports to provide up to 50 W PoE at 10 Mbps over distances up to 250 m. Schedule PoE off-times for non-business hours to save energy and disable unused ports to improve security. Monitor PoE consumption via the web interface and use SFP-DDM data to verify fiber link health.
