LevelOne RJ45 to SFP Managed Gigabit Media Converter

The LevelOne GVM-1000 is a managed Gigabit media converter that converts 10/100/1000Base-T Ethernet to 1000Base-X fiber via an SFP slot. Designed for local and remote management, the device supports IEEE 802.3ah OAM, allowing monitoring and configuration of remotely connected converters when paired with an OAM-capable switch or media converter. It supports half- and full-duplex operation, VLAN tagging (including Q-in-Q), and provides LED indicators for activity, FDX, link and power.

How to use

Install an appropriate SFP module for the desired fiber type, insert it into the SFP slot and connect the fiber cable to the module. Connect copper devices to the RJ-45 port. Power the unit from an appropriate 100–240 V supply. Use the Web UI or an SNMP management system to configure link speed, duplex mode, VLAN tagging (including Q-in-Q), bandwidth limits and OAM settings. When deployed with an OAM-capable remote converter or switch, use the Web interface to monitor remote link status and perform loopback tests.
