The Navilock NL-852EUSB is a compact USB GNSS receiver module with an integrated patch antenna and backup battery. Built around the u-blox 8 UBX-M8030-KT chipset, this USB 2.0 device receives signals from multiple satellite systems, accepts up to 72 satellites simultaneously and is suitable for navigation and location-aware applications requiring portable, easy-to-install positioning hardware.

How to use

Connect the Navilock NL-852EUSB to a USB 2.0 port on a computer or embedded host. Install any required drivers or allow the operating system to load the appropriate USB serial driver. Configure the receiving software to read NMEA 0183 sentences (GGA, GSA, GSV, RMC, VTG) at the desired baud rate (auto baud up to 115200 bps). For best performance, place the module where the patch antenna has a clear view of the sky and enable AssistNow or SBAS if supported by the application.

Recommendations

For reliable fixes and optimal accuracy, mount the module with an unobstructed sky view, avoid shielding by metal enclosures, and enable SBAS or AssistNow services when available. Allow the receiver to complete a cold start (approx. 26 seconds) after initial power-up for first-time position acquisition.
