The NL-602U GPS receiver features a u-blox6 GPS and GALILEO SuperSense chipset, is waterproof and has a magnetic, non-slip base. The version 6 chipset offers even faster acquisition and greater reception sensitivity than before, and the built-in high-sensitivity GPS antenna ensures maximum reception. The receiver supports AssistNow; the AssistNow Offline service (14-day period) enables a very quick start after a change of location or a period of poor reception by downloading correction data from the internet and storing it on the receiver, so it can start anywhere in the world as soon as the first satellite signal is received. With a firmware update, the NL-602U also supports Europe's Galileo satellite system. The connecting cable can be extended up to 5 metres with an active USB extension for flexible placement, and the built-in USB-to-serial bridge simplifies handling - you simply install a u-blox USB driver and it is ready. The magnet in the base lets the receiver be mounted securely on a magnetic surface or vehicle roof, and it can be removed for aviation use to avoid magnetic interference in the cockpit. The chipset's standard setup is not designed for aviation altitudes and speeds but can easily be switched to Airborne 4g mode.
