Backplate EK Water Blocks Acetal Copper POM Black

EK-Quantum Vector FTW3 RTX 3080/3090 Active Backplate - Acetal is a two-piece liquid-cooling backplate designed to actively cool the backside of EVGA GeForce RTX 3080 and 3090 FTW3 GPUs. It integrates with EK-Quantum Vector FTW3 water blocks via a replacement terminal so the water block and the active backplate operate as a single looped unit, reducing extra tubing and simplifying the cooling circuit. The assembly targets PCB hotspots, VRM areas and, where applicable, backside VRAM to improve overall heat removal from the graphics card.

Advantages

The active backplate provides direct cooling over critical components by channeling coolant across an internal fin array with eight wide channels that keep flow restriction low. Its base is CNC-machined from nickel-plated electrolytic copper for efficient heat conduction, while the top cover is made from black POM acetal and the remaining external parts are black anodized aluminum that does not contact the coolant. EPDM O-rings ensure watertight sealing and acetal terminals match the top cover for a unified appearance. The integrated terminal reduces the number of fittings by combining inlet and outlet ports into a single combined enclosure with the Vector water block.

How to use

Remove the stock terminal supplied with the Vector water block and install the replacement terminal supplied with the Vector Active Backplate to link both blocks into a single unit. Mount the active backplate onto the GPU PCB using the included screws, nuts and washers following the manufacturer torque guidance. Fit thermal pads where required on the PCB hotspots and VRM areas before securing the backplate. Connect the combined inlet and outlet to your liquid-cooling loop using standard G1/4" fittings and fill and pressure-test the loop for leaks before powering the system.

Recommendations

Use only with compatible EK-Quantum Vector FTW3 water blocks and EVGA FTW3 RTX 3080/3090 PCBs. Verify correct placement of thermal pads and secure all fasteners evenly. Perform a leak test after installation and monitor coolant temperatures after initial operation to confirm expected thermal performance.
