ASUS TUF Gaming VG27AQE5A computer monitor 68.6 cm (27 inch) 2560 x 1440 pixels Quad HD LED Black

The ASUS TUF Gaming VG27AQE5A is a 27-inch (68.6 cm) QHD (2560 x 1440) Fast IPS gaming monitor with a matt LED panel and 16:9 aspect ratio. It combines a high refresh rate, very low response time and adaptive-sync compatibility to deliver smooth gameplay and clear visuals for gamers and productivity users. The monitor includes built-in speakers and supports VESA mounting for flexible ergonomic setups.

Advantages

This monitor offers an overclockable 165 Hz refresh rate and an extremely low 0.3 ms GTG response time for reduced motion blur and snappy on-screen action. It supports NVIDIA G-SYNC compatibility and AMD FreeSync Premium for tear-free gaming, while ASUS ELMB minimizes ghosting at high frame rates. The Fast IPS panel provides wide viewing angles and accurate color reproduction, and DisplayWidget Center plus built-in gaming tools make on-screen adjustments straightforward.

Suitable for

• Competitive and fast-paced PC gaming
• General multimedia and video playback
• Office work and productivity with high-resolution desktop space
• Users who need VESA-compatible mounting and integrated speakers

When it may not be suitable

This model may be unnecessary for casual users who do not benefit from high refresh rates or ultra-fast response times. If you require the deepest HDR performance or the highest brightness levels for bright-room professional color grading, this monitor’s mid-range contrast and brightness may be limiting.

How to use

Connect the monitor to your PC or console via DisplayPort or HDMI, then adjust display settings using the on-screen menu or the DisplayWidget Center software for mouse-driven configuration. For best gaming results, enable the adaptive-sync option supported by your GPU (NVIDIA G-SYNC Compatible or AMD FreeSync Premium) and select the highest refresh rate in your system display settings. Position the monitor on a stable desk or mount it with a VESA arm for ergonomic height and tilt adjustments.

What to consider before purchase

• Ensure your graphics card supports QHD resolution and the desired adaptive-sync technology (G-SYNC Compatible or FreeSync Premium).
• Check that you have the appropriate cables and ports (DisplayPort or HDMI) to use the maximum 165 Hz refresh rate.
• Consider room lighting and intended use—300 cd/m² and 1500:1 contrast are typical for gaming but may be limited for high-end HDR workflows.

Recommendations

For competitive gaming, use DisplayPort connection, enable adaptive-sync and set the refresh rate to 165 Hz. Calibrate color settings with built-in presets for different game genres and reduce eye strain by enabling flicker-free mode and adjusting brightness to comfortable levels.
