At just over two ounces and two cubic inches, it’s practically weightless (about 1/2 the size and weight of the legacy RS507x ring scanner). Wear it on a finger, the back of a hand or on a lanyard. The single-sided trigger model accommodates gloves; the double trigger model lets workers switch hands on the fly. And the top-mounted trigger on both models allows rotation of the RS5100 to the side of a finger for near-zero protrusion.

In addition, the two imagers can scan barcodes twice the distance as the legacy RS507x ring scanner.

How to use

Choose the wearing style that fits the task and operator comfort — options include the adjustable enterprise hand mount for left or right hands, back‑of‑hand mount, finger ring, belt attachment or retractable lanyard. Pair the RS5100 with a host device over Bluetooth following the Zebra pairing procedure for your operating system. Position the scanner so the aiming window faces the barcode and press the trigger to scan; the appropriate scan engine will capture 1D and 2D codes depending on configuration. Recharge the integrated lithium‑ion battery using the manufacturer’s cradle or charging accessory according to the supplied instructions.
