Self-adjusting cutting and stripping tool No. 8146 designed for modern electrical installations and equipment circuitry. The tool strips about 90% of common wires without manual adjustment and accepts easily exchangeable module inserts for accurate stripping of a wide range of insulation materials, including PVC and PTFE. How to use

Select and fit the appropriate module insert (flat, round or V blade) for the insulation and conductor size you are working with. Position the conductor in the tool jaw, squeeze the handles to engage the self-adjusting mechanism and pull the tool along the conductor to remove insulation. For cutting, use the cutting section to sever flexible or rigid wires within the stated capacities. Replace blades or inserts as needed following the manufacturer’s instructions.

Recommendations

Use the flat blade (supplied) for common PVC-insulated wires; choose the round or V blade for larger conductors or PTFE insulation. Verify stripping capacity against the conductor cross-section and AWG rating before use, and follow standard safety practices when working on live circuits or energized equipment.
