The InLine® USB-A terminal block adapter offers a practical solution for transferring USB-2.0 signals to a 5-pin terminal block without soldering or cable connection. Typical applications can be found in the areas of service, test setups, development, or prototyping.
The standard-size USB-A connector is directly connected to a 5-pin screw terminal block. The clear labeling of the terminals – 1: Ground (–), 2: D+, 3: D–, 4: Voltage (+), 5: Shield (S) – enables easy and reliable signal assignment. The terminal connections with a 5.0 mm grid dimension support single wires in the 16–26 AWG range.
Wiring is carried out with the aid of a flat-head screwdriver. Thanks to its compact housing, the adapter is particularly space-saving – e.g. in test equipment, mobile measuring stations, or in laboratories.

How to use

Insert the USB‑A plug into the host or device USB‑A receptacle. Strip and prepare individual wires (16–26 AWG), insert each conductor into the matching numbered terminal (1 through 5) and tighten the screw using a flat‑head screwdriver (≤ 2.5 mm) until secure. Use the clear terminal labeling to assign ground, D+, D–, VBUS and shield correctly. The adapter enables fast connection and disconnection for testing or temporary setups without soldering.

Recommendations

For reliable long‑term operation, ensure wire cross‑section is within the specified 16–26 AWG range, tighten screws to achieve secure contact, avoid exposing the adapter to temperatures outside –20 °C to +105 °C, and limit per‑pin current to 0.7 A.
