How to use

Initialize the drive by entering Admin mode on the onboard keypad to set an Admin PIN and configure device policies such as minimum/maximum PIN length, retry limits, and read-only modes. If desired, configure the device for User Forced Enrollment so that each user must set a unique PIN before accessing stored data. To unlock the drive connect it to a powered USB Type-A port and enter the PIN directly on the device’s keypad; the drive remains invisible to the host until unlocked. Use the Admin mode to mass-configure multiple devices with the Aegis Configurator or a powered hub. To reset and redeploy the device, perform a drive reset which clears PINs, destroys stored data, and generates a new encryption key.

Recommendations

Set strong, non-repeating PINs within the administrator-defined length, enable User Forced Enrollment where appropriate, and configure an appropriate number of invalid attempt retries to balance usability and security.
