How to use

Set up the Aegis Secure Key 3.0 by creating User and Admin PINs directly on the device using the onboard keypad; no software installation or admin rights are required. Enter the chosen PIN on the keypad to unlock the drive before connecting it to a computer or device. When finished, unplug the drive or allow it to auto-lock after the configured inactivity period. If the User PIN is forgotten, the Admin PIN can clear the User PIN; alternatively use the drive reset to destroy data and generate a new encryption key for reuse.

Recommendations

Store the Admin PIN separately from the drive, use strong unpredictable PINs within the 7–16 digit range, and regularly back up critical data elsewhere since the drive’s reset or brute-force defense permanently destroys stored data.
