How to use

Install the MGS-910XP on a stable surface or in a rack with appropriate ventilation. Connect devices to the RJ45 ports using Cat5e/Cat6 cables; the ports will auto-negotiate the optimal speed up to 2.5Gbps. Insert a compatible SFP+ transceiver into the SFP+ slot for fiber uplink or high-speed backbone connection. Power PoE devices directly from the switch ports; the unit will supply 802.3at PoE+ power without additional injectors. The DIP switch allows selection of “Standard” or “VLAN” mode for basic port-based isolation when required.

Recommendations

Use Cat5e or better cabling to achieve 2.5Gbps copper links and select SFP+ transceivers that match required distance and fiber type for the 10G uplink. Choose the VLAN mode when isolating IP camera traffic to prevent multicast or broadcast storms from affecting other ports.
