How to use

Plug the RE705X into a power outlet within range of your router, open the TP-Link Tether app on your phone, and follow the on-screen steps to extend your existing WiFi network. To use Access Point mode, connect an Ethernet cable from your modem or router to the extender’s Ethernet port; the device will create a dual-band wireless access point. Use the Tether app to monitor connection status, switch transmit power levels (Wide, Wider, Widest), and perform firmware updates.

Recommendations

Place the extender roughly halfway between the router and the area with poor coverage for best performance. If coverage gaps remain, add another EasyMesh-compatible device to form a mesh network. For optimal speeds on 5 GHz, ensure client devices support 160 MHz channels and WiFi 6 features.
