How to use

Install drives and optional M.2 NVMe SSDs, connect the NAS to your network using available Ethernet ports or add PCIe network cards for 10GbE/2.5GbE. Configure the system through QTS or QuTS hero, create storage pools and volumes, and enable SSD caching or Qtier for automatic data placement. Use File Station to manage files and set folder permissions, and install backup apps such as Hyper Data Protector or Hybrid Backup Sync to schedule backups and snapshots. For GPU-accelerated tasks or Fibre Channel SAN, install compatible low-profile graphics or QNAP Fibre Channel cards into the PCIe slots and configure accordingly.

Recommendations

For best results in virtualization, database, or multimedia workflows, equip the TS-473A with ECC memory, at least one M.2 NVMe SSD for caching or Qtier, and consider adding a Multi-Gigabit (2.5GbE or higher) network card via PCIe. Use QuTS hero when end-to-end data integrity and inline data reduction are primary requirements.
