How to use

Install the TS-1673AU-RP-16G in a standard 19-inch rack, populate drives as required, and connect network cables to the 2.5GbE ports. Use QNAP QTS or QuTS hero to create storage pools, configure RAID, and set up block-based iSCSI LUNs for virtualization. If needed, install PCIe expansion cards for 10GbE/iSER, Fibre Channel, or additional network/storage interfaces, and configure SSD caching through Storage & Snapshots Manager to accelerate IOPS. Deploy Virtualization Station or Container Station to host VMs and containers, and use Network & Virtual Switch to allocate physical network resources.

Recommendations

For virtualization and high-IOPS workloads, populate the device with a mix of enterprise SSDs for cache and high-capacity HDDs for bulk storage, increase RAM toward 64 GB for heavier VM densities, and consider adding a compatible 10GbE or Fibre Channel PCIe card for improved storage network throughput. Use supported low-profile GPUs only if required and ensure adequate power and cooling in the rack environment.
