The storage capacity of the TS-432PXU-RP can be easily expanded to meet growing data demands. Simply connect a QNAP TR RAID expansion enclosure or TL JBOD to expand storage space on demand. With QNAP's Virtual JBOD (VJBOD) technology, the unused space of the TS-432PXU-RP can also be used to expand the storage space of other QNAP NAS.

How to use

Install compatible HDDs or SSDs into the four drive bays according to the slot numbering, then connect network cables to the 10GbE SFP+ or 2.5GbE ports depending on your network infrastructure. Use the PCIe Gen2 ×2 slot to add optional QNAP expansion cards for additional network interfaces, SSD caching or wireless connectivity. Configure storage pools and RAID levels in QTS, enable SSD cache or Qtier auto-tiering if using SSDs, and set up user accounts, shared folders and network services through the QTS management interface. For cloud integration, enable HybridMount or VJBOD Cloud and configure caching or backups as needed.

Recommendations

For optimal performance in multi-user SMB environments, expand memory to at least 4–8 GB if running multiple services, use SSDs for caching or tiering to improve I/O, and deploy 10GbE network links or a mix of 10GbE and 2.5GbE to match workstation capabilities. Regularly use HBS or Boxafe to back up critical on‑premises and cloud data, and consider using TR/TL expansion units or VJBOD to grow capacity without replacing the NAS.
