Extralink Gigabit 4-Port PoE Injector supplies data and power over existing Ethernet cabling to compatible network devices. The compact unit provides four RJ45 ports with 10/100/1000 Mb/s capability and delivers 48 V PoE in accordance with IEEE 802.3af and IEEE 802.3at standards. Housed in a blue and black enclosure, the injector consolidates four data-and-power RJ45 outputs and a single DC power input to feed PoE cameras, access points and other powered devices without requiring separate power adapters at each endpoint.

How to use

Connect the injector's data input RJ45 to your switch or router and plug the supplied AC–DC adapter into the DC power input. Attach PoE-capable devices to the four PoE RJ45 outputs; these ports carry both Ethernet data and the 48 V PoE voltage. Ensure the combined power draw of connected devices does not exceed the AC–DC adapter capacity. If necessary, use an adapter with higher wattage following the recommended power planning (approximately 10 W per RJ45 kit where 1 kit equals two RJ45 sockets).

Recommendations

Plan total power requirements before connecting devices: estimate about 10 W per RJ45 kit (1 kit = 2 sockets) as a guideline and select an AC–DC adapter with sufficient headroom. Use quality CAT5e or CAT6 cables to preserve gigabit performance, and verify device compatibility with IEEE 802.3af/at standards.
