Optical drive bracket Lenovo 704AT Slim ODD 01EF799 for slim optical drives

Replacement bracket designed for Lenovo 704AT Slim ODD, model 01EF799, intended to mount slim optical drives in compatible Lenovo chassis. This bracket restores correct alignment and secure fixation of SATA slim optical disc drives, enabling stable mechanical support and reliable drive operation when the original mounting hardware is missing or damaged.

Advantages

The bracket provides precise positioning for slim optical drives, reducing the risk of misalignment that can cause read/write errors. It is made to fit the Lenovo 704AT Slim ODD form factor, ensuring compatibility with standard slim SATA ODDs used in supported systems. Installation maintains a secure mechanical connection and helps prevent vibration and movement during drive operation.

Suitable for

• Repairing laptops or small form factor desktops that accept the Lenovo 704AT Slim ODD bracket
• Upgrading or replacing a damaged or missing slim optical drive mounting bracket
• Maintaining correct alignment for SATA slim optical disc drives to ensure proper drive operation

Key specifications

• Form factor: slim optical drive bracket compatible with Slim ODD units
• Compatibility: designed for Lenovo 704AT Slim ODD installations in compatible systems
• Mounting: screw-mount attachment points for secure fixation of slim SATA ODDs
• Material: metal/plastic composite construction for structural support (manufacturer-specified)
• Finish: anti-corrosion coating or natural metal/plastic finish depending on production batch

How to use

Power down the computer and disconnect any power sources before beginning. Remove the existing front bezel or housing panels as required to access the slim optical drive bay. Position the replacement bracket in the bay so that its screw holes align with the chassis threaded inserts and the slim ODD aligns with the bezel opening. Secure the bracket with the appropriate screws, mount the slim SATA optical drive into the bracket, and fasten the drive with its mounting screws. Reattach any housing panels or bezels and reconnect power. After installation, verify that the system recognizes the optical drive and that the drive inserts and ejects media smoothly.

Recommendations

Use compatible screw sizes and moderate torque to avoid damaging threads. Confirm that the slim optical drive is a standard slim SATA ODD and that the chassis supports the Lenovo 704AT Slim ODD bracket form factor before installation. Handle the bracket and drive on an anti-static surface and avoid excessive force when aligning components.
