The Noctua NF-A8 PWM is an 80 mm computer case fan designed for efficient and quiet cooling. It features Noctua’s AAO (Advanced Acoustic Optimisation) frame, Flow Acceleration Channels and a refined aerodynamic layout to improve airflow and reduce noise compared with earlier designs. The PWM model includes Noctua’s NE-FD1 IC for automatic speed control via 4-pin headers and a Low-Noise-Adaptor that lowers the maximum rpm from 2200 to 1750 when engaged.

How to use

Install the fan in the desired case position using the supplied screws or anti-vibration mounts, observing the indicated airflow direction. Connect the 4-pin PWM cable to a compatible motherboard or controller header to enable automatic speed regulation. If lower maximum speed and noise are required, attach the supplied Low-Noise-Adaptor between the fan connector and the header. Ensure the fan is clear of cables and obstructions to maintain optimal airflow.

Recommendations

For balanced cooling and low noise, use the NF-A8 PWM on intake or exhaust positions in small cases and enable PWM control from the motherboard. Fit the Low-Noise-Adaptor when lower peak RPM and reduced acoustic output are preferred.
