Fan Noctua NF-F12

The Noctua NF-F12 5V is a dedicated 5V version of Noctua’s award-winning 120 mm NF-F12 fan, engineered for applications that require a quiet high-performance 5V cooling solution. It features the Focused Flow™ frame, AAO (Advanced Acoustic Optimisation) elements, Smooth Commutation Drive technology and an SSO2 bearing with a CNC-milled brass bearing shell to ensure smooth operation and long-term stability. The package includes a USB power adaptor cable, an OmniJoin™ adaptor set, a 30 cm extension cable and a 6-year manufacturer’s warranty. Note: this 5V model must not be connected to 12V sources such as PC motherboard fan headers as doing so will damage the fan.

Advantages

The NF-F12 5V combines a pressure-optimised Focused Flow™ frame and a seven-blade Heptaperf™ impeller to deliver high static pressure and efficient airflow at low noise levels. AAO frame features such as Stepped Inlet Design, inner surface microstructures and integrated anti-vibration pads improve intake behaviour, reduce tonal noise and minimise vibration transfer. How to use

Connect the NF-F12 5V to a suitable 5V power source using the supplied USB power adaptor cable or with the OmniJoin™ adaptors for proprietary 5V headers. Ensure correct polarity before connecting; the fan contains an integrated diode for polarity protection but proper alignment is recommended. Use the short 20 cm primary cable for close installations and the 30 cm extension when additional reach is needed. Do not connect the fan to 12V fan headers or other 12V supplies.

Recommendations

For pressure-demanding applications such as heatsinks and radiators, install the fan so that the Focused Flow™ frame faces the component requiring directed airflow. Avoid connecting to 12V sources. For devices with proprietary connectors, follow the OmniJoin™ instructions and use the supplied 3M Scotchlok™ connectors when splicing cables.
