How to use

Install the SGS-6310-24T4X in a standard 19-inch rack using its 1U chassis. Connect access devices to the 24 RJ45 ports and use the SFP+ ports for 1G/10G uplinks or stacking links with compatible SFP/SFP+ transceivers. Configure Layer 2 settings (VLANs, link aggregation, MSTP) and Layer 3 routing (static routes, RIP or OSPF) via the web GUI or CLI. Enable security features such as ACLs, 802.1X, DHCP Snooping and IP Source Guard to protect the edge, and monitor SFP parameters using DDM where supported.

Recommendations

Use dual-speed SFP+ modules chosen for the required distance and rate (10G or 1G). For stacked deployments, dedicate SFP+ links for stack rings to maximize redundancy and throughput. Enable ERPS or MSTP in ring topologies to achieve sub-10ms recovery in simple ring configurations, and apply QoS/Wrr and Layer 4 classifiers to prioritize VoIP and video traffic.
