The PLANET GS-2210-8P2S is a managed Layer 2 Gigabit Ethernet switch with 8 10/100/1000BASE-T ports and 2 Gigabit SFP slots. It supports IEEE 802.3at PoE+ with a total PoE budget of up to 120 W and provides features such as link aggregation, VLAN, IGMP snooping, QoS and 20 Gbit/s switching capacity for small business and enterprise networks. The switch integrates with PLANET’s NMS solutions (UNI-NMS and NMSViewerPro) for centralized and remote device management, real-time monitoring and alerting.

Advantages

The GS-2210-8P2S combines PoE management (PD alive check, PoE schedule, PoE priority, power limit and usage monitoring) with Layer 2 capabilities to improve uptime and simplify operation. Built-in support for UNI-NMS and the NMSViewerPro app enables remote configuration, centralized control of up to large-scale node deployments, and convenient private-cloud monitoring via QR-code pairing. SFP uplink flexibility and ONVIF camera discovery make the switch suitable for surveillance, wireless and VoIP deployments.

Suitable for

  • Small and medium-sized business networks requiring PoE-powered devices
  • IP surveillance systems with ONVIF cameras
  • Wireless access point backhaul and VoIP phone deployments
  • Environments needing centralized or remote network management

Key specifications

  • Ports: 8 x 10/100/1000BASE-T, 2 x Gigabit SFP slots
  • PoE: IEEE 802.3at (PoE+), up to 32 W per port, 120 W total budget
  • Switching capacity: 20 Gbit/s
  • MAC table: 8,000 entries
  • Layer 2 features: VLAN (802.1Q), QoS (802.1p), link aggregation, IGMP snooping, MSTP
  • Management: Web UI, UNI-NMS, NMSViewerPro mobile app, SNMP
  • Weight and colour: 1.235 kg, blue

How to use

Install the switch in a rack or on a flat surface and connect power and network cables to the required ports. Use the web management interface or the UNI-NMS/NMSViewerPro application to discover the device, apply VLANs, set QoS and configure PoE behaviors such as schedules, priorities and power limits. For remote sites, register the NMS agent (NMS-500/NMS-1000V) with the mobile app by scanning its QR code to enable private-cloud monitoring and remote control. Use the SFP slots with compatible fiber transceivers for long-distance uplinks.

Recommendations

Monitor PoE power usage via the web interface and configure PoE schedules to save energy and increase security outside business hours. Use PD alive check and scheduled resets for remote PD recovery, and enable ONVIF discovery to simplify IP camera management.
