The PLANET GS-2210-24P2S is a managed Layer 2 Ethernet switch with 24 Gigabit 10/100/1000BASE-T ports, two Gigabit SFP slots and a total PoE budget of up to 260 W. Designed for small and medium businesses and enterprises, it supports PoE+ (802.3at) on RJ-45 ports to power IP cameras, wireless access points and VoIP phones while offering VLAN, IGMP, QoS, link aggregation and other L2 management features for reliable network operation. Integrated with PLANET’s UNI-NMS and NMSViewerPro, the switch enables centralized and remote device monitoring, configuration and power management via local GUI, mobile app or cloud-based NMS agents.

How to use

Install the switch in a rack or on a flat surface and connect uplink fiber or Ethernet to the backbone using the SFP or RJ-45 ports. Connect PoE-powered devices (IP cameras, APs, VoIP phones) to the RJ-45 ports. Access the web management interface or NMSViewerPro app to configure VLANs, QoS, link aggregation and PoE settings. For remote centralized management, register and pair the switch with PLANET UNI-NMS by scanning the NMS agent QR code in the mobile application or adding the device in the NMS console.

Recommendations

For reliable operation, plan PoE budget per port and overall power usage to avoid over-commitment. Use PoE schedule to disable ports outside business hours for energy savings and increased security. When deploying cameras over long distances, use appropriate SFP transceivers (multi-mode or single-mode) for the required fiber span and enable PD alive check to automatically reset unresponsive devices.
