The LevelOne FEP-0631 is a Fast Ethernet PoE switch with six RJ-45 ports, including two uplink ports and four Power over Ethernet (PoE) ports. Each PoE port can supply up to 30 W and the total PoE power budget is 60 W. The switch supports transmission distances up to 250 m at 10 Mbps and includes a 1000-entry MAC address table. It complies with IEEE 802.3af/at standards and automatically detects compatible PoE devices to deliver power and data over a single cable.

How to use

Mount the switch on a shelf or in a small rack position with adequate ventilation. Connect the DC power supply within the specified 48–57 V range. Plug PoE-capable devices into the PoE-enabled RJ-45 ports to provide both data and power; non‑PoE devices can be connected to the remaining ports. The switch will auto-detect IEEE 802.3af/at devices and negotiate speed and duplex automatically. Use the front-panel LEDs to verify link/activity and PoE status during setup.

Recommendations

To avoid exceeding the PoE budget, check combined power requirements of connected PoE devices and distribute high-draw devices across ports or use an additional PoE switch or injector if total power demand exceeds 60 W.
