The LevelOne GEP-0821 is an 8-port Gigabit PoE switch that delivers data and power over a single Ethernet cable according to IEEE 802.3af/at standards. It provides eight 10/100/1000 Mbps RJ-45 ports with PoE+ support, a total PoE power budget of 123.2 W and up to 30 W per port. The switch supports 9K jumbo frames, full-duplex transmission, an 8K MAC address table and a 16 Gbit/s switching capacity, and comes with a 19-inch rackmount kit for straightforward installation in small business networks.

How to use

Install the GEP-0821 in a standard 19-inch rack or place it on a flat surface. Connect each PoE-capable device to the RJ-45 ports using Cat5e or higher cables to deliver both power and data. Ensure the combined power draw of connected devices does not exceed the total PoE budget of 123.2 W; the switch negotiates per-port power up to 30 W according to IEEE 802.3af/at. For non-PoE devices, use the ports as standard Gigabit Ethernet connections.
