The RØDELink LAV is a professional wearable lavalier microphone with a locking 3.5mm TRS connector compatible with the RØDELink wireless systems and most recorders that have a locking microphone input. It uses a small 4.5 mm omnidirectional capsule designed to capture sound from all directions while remaining discreet and easy to position. Supplied accessories include a foam pop shield to reduce wind noise and plosives and a mounting clip with integrated cable management. The cable is Kevlar®-reinforced for increased durability on location.

How to use

Attach the lavalier to clothing using the supplied mounting clip, route the cable through the clip’s cable management to prevent movement noise, and fit the foam pop shield over the capsule when necessary to reduce wind and plosive sounds. Insert the locking TRS connector into a compatible transmitter or recorder until it locks to ensure a secure electrical and mechanical connection. Position the microphone on the subject (typically on the chest or lapel) to achieve clear vocal capture while keeping it discreet.

Recommendations

For best results, place the microphone 15–20 cm below the mouth on the chest or lapel and use the foam pop shield outdoors or in windy conditions. Verify the locking mechanism is engaged to avoid accidental disconnection during recording. Avoid sharp bends at the connector to extend cable life.
