How to use

Connect the PodMic USB to a computer or mobile device using the included USB Type-C cable for plug-and-play recording, or use the XLR output to connect to an audio interface or mixer. Select the PodMic USB as the input device in your recording software or device settings. Use the on-board DSP controls and VoxLab presets through the RØDE Companion software (or device-compatible app) to shape high-pass filter, gate, compression and enhancement settings. Monitor audio through the zero-latency headphone output and adjust headphone level via the rotary control on the microphone.

Recommendations

Position the microphone 15–30 cm from the speaker and use the included external pop filter for reduced plosives. For best vocal clarity, use the high-pass filter to remove low-frequency rumble and engage the noise gate when recording in untreated or noisy environments. When using XLR, ensure your audio interface gain is set to achieve clear levels without clipping.
