The Kensington MicroSaver 2.0 Locking Kit (25 Pack, Single Keyed) secures desktops and peripherals with 25 identical key locks designed for workplaces and public spaces. Each locking unit features a 10mm lock head that fits thin laptops and slim devices, a 5mm Kensington keying system with Hidden Pin™ anti-pick technology, an anchor plate for devices without a Kensington Security Slot, and an 8-foot carbon steel cable with plastic sheath for cut resistance and mobility. The kit is supplied in black and is intended to protect keyboards, mice and other peripherals where a keyed locking solution is required.

Advantages

The 10mm lock head offers a compact form factor while meeting Kensington’s standards for tamper-resistance, reliability and durability. The common 5mm keying system across the kit simplifies key management for IT administrators and includes patented Hidden Pin™ anti-pick protection. The anchor plate enables secure attachment to devices lacking a native security slot, and the 8-foot carbon steel cable provides cut-resistant anchoring to desks or fixed structures. The multi-piece design includes adapters and a cable trap to secure peripherals, and the Register & Retrieve™ program allows replacement keys to be ordered if keys are lost. Supervisor keyed configuration gives administrative key control so only authorized IT personnel can unlock the locks.

Suitable for

  • Securing peripherals such as wired keyboards and mice in offices
  • Protecting thin laptops and devices without a Kensington Security Slot (using anchor plate)
  • Deployments requiring uniform keying across multiple locks for simplified management
  • Public spaces, education and shared workstations where theft prevention is needed

How to use

Attach the anchor plate to a flat surface of a device that lacks a Kensington Security Slot using the adhesive provided, or insert the appropriate adapter into a standard Kensington Security Slot. Thread the cable around a desk leg or other fixed structure and insert the lock head into the device’s security slot or into the anchor plate. Engage the lock with the supplied key. For peripherals, use the cable trap and adapters to secure keyboards and mice. Keep the master supervisor key in secure custody and register your keys with Kensington’s Register & Retrieve™ service for replacement if needed.

Recommendations

Use the anchor plate only on clean, flat surfaces and allow adhesive to cure per the manufacturer’s instructions. Route the cable to minimize tripping hazards and inspect locks and cable periodically for signs of wear. Store master keys securely and register keys with Kensington’s online service to enable efficient key replacement.
