The Icy Dock ToughArmor MB607SP-B is a full-metal quad-bay 2.5" SATA 6Gbps hot-swap mobile rack designed to fit a single external 5.25" bay. It accepts four 2.5" SAS/SATA HDDs or SSDs (5mm–15mm) and uses a standard 15-pin SATA power connector. The enclosure features a single rear 40mm cooling fan with a 3-mode fan speed control and individual drive LEDs with Active Power Technology (APT) to power LEDs and fan only when drives are present. How to use

Install the MB607SP-B into an available external 5.25" bay following your chassis instructions. Insert 2.5" drives into the EZ Slide Mini Trays and slide each tray into the enclosure until it locks. Connect a 7-pin SATA data cable and a 15-pin SATA power cable (with latch) to the corresponding rear connectors; the locking latches secure cables in place. Select the fan speed mode appropriate for your drives (off/low/high) and monitor drive status via the front LEDs. Drives can be hot-swapped—power down only if your system or OS requires it.

Recommendations

For optimal cooling and longevity use higher fan mode with mechanical HDDs and low or off fan mode for SSD-only configurations. Label drive trays to track RAID membership or important data, and ensure your chassis provides sufficient airflow when multiple enclosures are installed.
